Background & approach
Dr. Singh is a triple board-certified physician in Addiction Psychiatry, Lifestyle Medicine, and Adult Psychiatry — one of a small number of clinicians in the Bay Area holding all three certifications simultaneously.
His training spans adult inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, addiction medicine, child and adolescent psychiatry, and psychosomatic medicine. His UCLA addiction fellowship and UC Davis exercise biology background give him an unusually broad lens for evaluating the full picture — biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle.
As an Assistant Professor at Drexel University, he remains active in academic psychiatry, which means his clinical practice reflects current evidence rather than habit.
He approaches each patient without prejudice, creates space for honest conversation, and believes treatment works best when patients are active participants in their own care.
Practice philosophy
The full picture, every time
Most psychiatric practices treat one problem in isolation. Dr. Singh evaluates biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors together — because they don't exist in isolation either.
Medication as a tool, not a default
Prescribing is part of the toolkit, not the whole plan. Every treatment recommendation incorporates exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress — evidence-based lifestyle changes that move the needle on their own.
Shared decision-making
Dr. Singh presents options, explains tradeoffs, and respects patient autonomy. You leave each visit understanding your treatment plan — not just following instructions.
